Tovah on the trapeze?! Tony-winning Pippin showstopper Andrea Martin will take a hiatus from the hit musical revival, and four time Tony-nominated actress Tovah Feldshuh will take her place as wise-cracking grandma Berthe in the interim. Feldshuh will perform the role from August 9 through 11, then return August 20 through 25. Directed by Diane Paulus, Pippin is currently playing at the Music Box Theatre.
In addition to Martin, the Tony-winning musical stars Matthew James Thomas as Pippin, Tony winner Patina Miller as the Leading Player, Terrence Mann as Charles, Charlotte d’Amboise as Fastrada, Rachel Bay Jones as Catherine and Erik Altemus as Lewis. Pippin also features Gregory Arsenal, Andrew Cekala, Lolita Costet, Colin Cunliffe, Andrew Fitch, Orion Griffiths, Viktoria Grimmy, Sabrina Harper, Olga Karmansky, Bethany Moore, Brad Musgrove, Stephanie Pope, Philip Rosenberg, Yannick Thomas, Molly Tynes, Anthony Wayne and Ashton Woerz.
Feldshuh garnered Tony nominations for Golda’s Balcony, Lend Me a Tenor, Sarava and Yentl. Her additional Broadway credits include Irena’s Vow, Rodgers & Hart, Dreyfus in Rehearsal and Cyrano. Her film and TV credits include Kissing Jessica Stein, As the World Turns, Lady in the Water, A Walk on the Moon, Covert Affairs and Beautiful People.
